Each
operational member of the Riddells Creek Fire Brigade are issued
their own electronic pager. In the event of an emergency that requires
the brigade to attend, a text message is delivered to each of the
Riddells Creek pagers which in turn, calls upon the brigade members
to begin travelling to the fire station.
Typically the Riddells Creek Fire Brigade will
have an appliance on the way to the fire about 5 minutes after the
emergency call was received.
In the years prior to the invention of the electronic
pagers, we relied on the town siren to alert brigade members of
an emergency. Today we still operate the town siren for daytime
emergencies which act’s as a secondary way of alerting our
members. It also helps to notify the community that their fire brigade
are being responded.
